This all-electric new construction in Newton, MA showcases ACE Services’ capabilities in high-performance, custom residential electrical systems. Built to Passive House standards, the 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home required a 400-amp electrical service designed to support cutting-edge energy systems, mechanical ventilation, and smart automation. We provided full-service electrical design and installation, collaborating closely with the general contractor and mechanical trades to deliver a clean, code-compliant result.
The home features a fully custom lighting package using Lotus LED recessed fixtures, dimmable architectural flexstrip lighting in ceiling coves, and LED step lights across all staircases. Exterior lighting included motion sensors, timers, sconces, and soffit lights, all carefully coordinated with the design team to enhance the home’s modern aesthetic. Smart control systems were integrated throughout, including Lutron automation for motorized shades and Google Nest components for security and HVAC. Electrical penetrations and layouts were carefully planned to maintain the airtight envelope required for passive construction.
Specialty systems included a Fantech makeup air unit for the kitchen range hood, which required complex relay wiring and programming to work in sync with the exhaust and pressure zones. We also installed dedicated circuits for the ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation) system, zoned HVAC, a 50-amp EV charger, and multiple subpanels for balanced load distribution. This project exemplifies ACE Services’ strength in executing technically challenging, energy-efficient homes with smart, future-ready infrastructure.
